Design inputs

Conjugate match: the network transforms ZL so the source sees Zin = ZS* at f₀, giving maximum power transfer. Series reactance > 0 → inductor, < 0 → capacitor; shunt susceptance > 0 → capacitor, < 0 → inductor. Wideband cascade: splits the transformation across N L-sections through geometric intermediate resistances, increasing N until the requested VSWR≤2 bandwidth is met (subject to the Bode–Fano limit for reactive terminations). Loss model: constant-Q series ESR (R = |X|/Q at each frequency); power-to-load and insertion loss are computed by exact ladder analysis.
